The Design Review

Bring the decision you've been sitting on, wrestling with, circling, or avoiding.

The Design Review is ninety minutes on one live decision; a price, a collaboration, a project, a conversation you keep repeating in your head, a relationship conflict, read against how you're actually built to make it.

You leave with the decision made. Not clearer. Made.

You've known for a fortnight.

You know what you should do. You could have written the plan three weeks ago. You probably did. And then you pause sending the proposal because you can’t decide how much to charge. You take the project you'd already decided against, said yes in a meeting while listening to yourself do it when every bone in your body was screaming no.

That isn't a discipline problem. It isn't information you're missing.

You're deciding with instructions that were built for somebody else.

One decision. Ninety minutes. Decided.

It’s not a reading. Although I do use your Human design to show you where your decision making powers live. It’s not a coaching container. Although I do coach as it’s in my DNA. It’s not a course you'll finish at 40% and wonder why you bought it in the first place.

You bring a real decision with a real date on it. We read it against your design and your chemistry; how you're built to decide, and what your body was doing the last four times you got it wrong.

Then you decide. In the session.

Most people arrive with one decision and find it was standing in for three.

Where the wrong ones come from

Your worst decisions have a signature. They cluster — same time of day, same kind of pressure, same eleven seconds between being asked and answering. That's not a coincidence. Human Design tells me how you're built to decide: the sequence, the pace, the specific input you need before an answer is reliable. Your blood sugar tells you whether you could access it at 4pm on a Thursday. One is the tool. The other is whether the tool is legible.

Body first, then design. In that order, because the second doesn't work without the first.

Most people know half of this; a type, a profile, a chart they found interesting and couldn't apply. That half is a description. This is the other half.

Who is this for?

You run something. Your own business, or you do something amazing inside someone else's. Money is earned, the reputation worked hard for  and the problem is never capability. You're sceptical and you're curious. You want to know how, more than the meaning. You've read enough. You'd rather be challenged than reassured.

This isn't built for

Anyone looking for a reading, a full chart walkthrough, or someone to tell them what they are. That's a different purchase and plenty of people sell it well.

Who am I?

Alex Darby. Thirty years in corporate leadership before this, an MSc in Leadership & Strategy, and Master Certified Coach credentials. Which matters because you're not buying someone who has only ever coached. You're buying someone who has run the P&L, made the hire, defended the number, and sat in the meeting you're describing. The method came out of needing it. Cancer, IVF, and building a business my own way with a body that stopped being reliable and decisions that still had to get made. It was built under load, then tested on the person who built it. That’d be me.

The Brief is your design, written, bespoke, built from a questionnaire, seven days, definitely not generated. The Review applies it to what's actually in front of you. The Room is where it gets run with other people.

Most people start with the Brief and book a Review when a decision lands.

You don't have to. If the decision is already on the table, start here.

Before you ask

You weren't built to guess

You've been making these decisions on the wrong instructions for a long time, and getting most of them right anyway. This is about the ones you get wrong the same way, every time.

Self. Made. Literally.
