About
I’m an executive coach for women ready to change the world. I’m seeking to show you exactly who you are, capturing your identities, expressions, and auras of success.
how did it save my life * exactly *
We’ve all got a story. It’s what I love most about people. I’m no different. Just as you’re totally unique. So am I.
Way back when I was 15, my mum died from breast cancer. She wrote best selling books, wore high heels and enchanted every single room she entered. My family didn’t cope too well. So by 16, I left school, was living on my own, and working in all the jobs I could to pay the rent. I was fired from a sandwich shop for putting too much filling between the slices, I was fired from a bank for making folk laugh and I made and sold wall hangings at the local boutique shop- which was fantastic but I couldn’t make them fast enough to make it work. It soon became clear I needed a better plan.
I decided to get a degree, and whilst studying I worked in the SU bar. I was so good at it, they asked me to help rebrand and redevelop it and before I knew it, I ‘d graduated and was doing it full time. It was the start of a beautiful career in hospitality, branding and communication. But just as my mum’s career (and life) was cut short in her 40’s, mine was about to head the same way. At the same age she’d been, I was diagnosed with breast cancer myself.
About
I had a choice. I could go the same way my mum did, or I could pull out all the stops and live.. for me, my daughter who was 4 at the time and for the future that didn’t involve getting back with my emotionally challenged ex husband, but instead a future that was full of the kind of life I’d dared not to live.
I chose the latter and it’s how it gave me the greatest pivot I didn’t see coming. I was given the gift of time. Due to my extensive and pretty brutal treatment and surgeries, I was off work for almost 2 years. Rather than making myself bankrupt from online shopping, I set about learning everything there was about me. I’d not long got a first class MSc in strategy and leadership, it was time to turn the telescope on myself. It’s how I learnt about coaching, Human Design, habit change, fear release and plain old.. you’ve got one life, don’t blow it.
I ultimately transformed my own life, qualified in every single modality I’d used on myself and set about creating a life I’d look back on and feel like the girl had done good.
But how it saved my life is where the twist comes in. When I was first diagnosed, I refused chemotherapy. It was the craziest and wildest thing I’d ever done. The time between finding said lump, being diagnosed and the decision about treatment plans was roughly 2 months. In that time I’d already started on my quest to learn Alex. I’d learnt my body was the oracle and I started to get these hit of intelligent intuition I’d not really had before. And it was this intelligence that was screaming at me to refuse chemo.
So I did. It wasn’t easy. I lost a few friends in the process. 6 weeks later, I fell, my hand landed on my other breast and I found another lump. I thought I was going to die.
My consultant, who was a man of few positive words, almost greeted me with open arms. With tears streaming down my face, and my daughters big eyes in my mind, he said “Alex, I don’t know how you did that, but whatever you did, don’t stop. If you’d have had chemo then, it would have been wrong for what we’ve now found.. you’ve somehow managed to save your own life.”
this is who i am
I took him at his word and I’ve never stopped. That was 13 years ago. I’ve since remarried to the man who is literally the love of my life, I was intentional about who I did or didn’t want in my life. My daughter is a strong willed, super bright spark who’s got big plans, I’m fitter than I’ve ever been, with 3 marathons under my belt and a daily routine that feels incredibly good and I get to work with talented, charismatic, smart women who are searching for that missing piece.
this is how i do it
Good at decisions.
We’ve been taught to logic our way through life. To use our brains. Your mind is a lousy decider but a genius strategiser.
Turn on your money tap
Energy is not all made equal. Money has the conditions you inherit vs the money magnets available to you. This turns on your money tap.
mine for the right words
Where your words come from and how they land, creating repetitive mic drop moments and more sales.
get Loved loved up
I get asked all the time about perfect pairings. Any pairing is perfect when you know how each other is designed.
inspire change
The only thing stopping you from inspiring change within yourself is you. Focus on what’s in your control, within your own body and design and get inspired to inspire.
see your signature style
We’ve all got one, yet we spend so long trying to be like everyone else in the name of belonging. Find your theme and set your signature style, in voice, branding, even in how you do your hair.
